Professional Photographer Services in London at 69 drops studios

Most people know 69 drops studios as a photography and video studio for hire in East London. Four fully equipped spaces, infinity coves, a professional kitchen — over 6,000 square feet of production-ready space between Whitechapel and Aldgate East. But studio hire is only half of what we do. We also have an in-house photography team that works across five specialist areas, shooting everything from fashion lookbooks to corporate headshots right here under one roof.

This post breaks down each of our professional photography services, what they involve, and who they are designed for.

eCommerce and Fashion Photography

Our eCommerce photography service is built around the needs of fashion brands and online retailers. We shoot on-model campaigns, editorial lookbooks, ghost mannequin imagery, and flat lay compositions — all produced in-house from a single studio session.

On-model shoots are the most effective way to sell clothing online. We work with professional models on seamless backgrounds to create campaign and lookbook imagery that works across your website, social media, and advertising. Model sourcing, styling, and creative direction are all available as part of the service.

For brands that need a clean, consistent product catalogue, we produce invisible ghost mannequin photography. This technique combines multiple exposures in post-production to show the true shape and fit of a garment without any visible mannequin or model. It is particularly effective for jackets, shirts, dresses, and blazers where the structure of the piece is a selling point.

We also shoot creative flat lays and styled outfit compositions for social media and collection overviews. These are the kind of images that stop people scrolling — curated top-down shots that showcase texture, detail, and how different pieces work together.

Every eCommerce project follows a four-step process: an initial consultation and quote, shoot preparation and garment prepping, the photography session itself with professional retouching, and final delivery via a private online gallery. We are set up for fast turnaround to match the pace of seasonal fashion cycles.

Product and Packshot Photography

Not every product is a garment. Our product photography studio caters to businesses across retail, food and beverages, electronics, cosmetics, and any other industry where high-quality product imagery drives purchasing decisions.

Packshot photography — clean, well-lit images of a product typically shot on a white or neutral background — is a fundamental requirement for any brand selling online. Professional packshots are used in catalogues, advertising campaigns, brochures, and across e-commerce platforms. They communicate quality and build credibility in a way that a smartphone photo simply cannot.

Our studios are equipped with professional lighting and backdrop systems designed specifically for this kind of work. Whether you need a single hero product shot or hundreds of SKUs photographed for a website launch, the setup is here and ready to go.

Food Photography

This is where the studio really sets itself apart. 69 drops studios has a dedicated kitchen studio built specifically for food photography and video production. Studio 1 is a 1,335 square foot space with a 3.5 metre high ceiling, a 5 metre wide infinity cove, and a fully fitted professional kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with everything a food stylist or chef needs to prepare on-site: electric and gas hobs, a combi oven and microwave, an American-style fridge freezer, a dishwasher, a Kenwood food mixer and processor, and a full set of cookware, tableware, and utensils. Part of the kitchen set is on wheels, so it can be repositioned as a kitchen island to suit your shoot layout.

Our food photography service is designed for brands, restaurants, publishers, and anyone in the food and drink industry who needs professional imagery. Having the kitchen and the photography studio in the same room eliminates the logistical headaches of preparing food in one location and transporting it to another. The food goes from the hob to the set in seconds, which makes all the difference when you are trying to capture steam rising from a freshly plated dish.

There is also a Tesco supermarket around the corner if you need to pick up last-minute ingredients during the shoot.

Headshot Photography

Our headshot photography service covers corporate, actor, creative, and LinkedIn headshots. Sessions are held at our studios in East London, though we also shoot on location — particularly for corporate clients who prefer an office environment.

Our headshot photographer works closely with each client to tailor the session to their specific needs. Actors and performers often require a range of looks and expressions across multiple setups, while corporate clients typically need a clean, professional result that aligns with their brand identity. We accommodate both.

Retouched images are delivered digitally, and we can arrange a makeup artist or hair stylist for the session if required. Student discounts are also available.

Still Life Photography

Our still life photography service is for brands and creatives who want something more composed and editorial than a standard product shot. Still life photography shows products or concepts in a styled setup — carefully arranged compositions that tell a story or communicate a particular aesthetic.

This approach is ideal for brands looking for modern, visually distinctive imagery for campaigns, social media, or print materials. We work directly with the client from concept through to the final retouched images, and all post-production is handled in-house to keep the process straightforward and the costs competitive.

Why Use an In-House Photography Team

There is a practical advantage to booking your photography with the same studio where the shoot takes place. When the photographers, the lighting, the backdrops, the kitchen, and the post-production team are all under the same roof, there are fewer variables to manage. You are not coordinating between a freelance photographer, an external studio, and a separate retoucher — it is all handled by one team in one location.

That also means we know the studios inside out. We know exactly how the natural light behaves in Studio 1 at different times of day, which infinity cove works best for a particular type of product, and how to get the most out of the blackout room in Studio 3. That kind of familiarity translates directly into better results and a more efficient shoot.
